Tinjauan ke Stadion Utama Palaran ini guna menindaklanjuti rencana Borneo FC menjadikan aset Pemprov Kaltim ini sebagai markas tim.
“Kita mengunjungi Stadion Palaran. Ini tindaklanjut pertemuan dengan manajemen Borneo FC yang akan menjadikan stadion utama ini sebagai home base Borneo FC,” kata Akmal Malik.
Akmal Malik mengaku ada kendala dalam merevitalisasi Stadion Palaran, karena aset tanahnya milik Pemkot Samarinda, tetapi infrastrukturnya punya Pemerintah Provinsi Kaltim.
“Ini harus kita bicarakan dengan Kota Samarinda. Kita tidak usah berdebat statusnya. Terpenting, bagaimana kita memfungsikan venue olahraga ini, sehingga kita bisa memacu prestasi olahraga Kalimantan Timur,” ungkapnya.
Keberadaan Stadion Utama Palaran ini, menurut Akmal Malik bisa menjadi lokasi multi event, selain olahraga juga event lainnya yang bisa mendatangkan pendapatan bagi Kaltim.
“Tapi utamanya, kita akan pikirkan dulu status dan bagaimana pengelolaannya kedepan. Saya berharap dukungan semua pihak. Mudah-mudahan stadion ini bisa kita fungsikan lebih optimal, setelah kita bereskan persoalan administrasinya,” jelasnya.
Untuk pengerjaan revitalisasinya, lanjutnya akan dilaksanakan pertengahan Maret mendatang, karena masih menunggu appraisalnya.
Sebab menurut Akmal tidak semua dilakukan revetalisasi, karena asetnya harus diclearkan, minimal bisa difungsikan untuk kegiatan olahraga.
Termasuk home base Borneo FC, ataupun kegiatan lain yang mendatangkan kebaikan bagi masyarakat Kalimantan Timur.
“Kita bangga dengan stadion ini. Untuk itu dibenahi segera. Jangan sampai punya aset bagus, tapi tidak bermanfaat,” tegasnya. (*)
