Dengan agenda hari jadi Kota Samarinda ke-355 tahun dan mengangkat tema membangun kota peradaban, kejuaraan tersebut dilaksanakan dalam rangka HUT Kota Samarinda ke-355 dan HUT Pemkot Samarinda ke-63.
Diketahui kemudian tim regu DPRD Samarinda A harus mengakui keunggulan dari tim regu Dinas Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan (Disdikbud) A di final kejuaraan Bulutangkis antar Organisasi Perangkat Daerah (OPD) di Gedung Olahraga KNPI Samarinda.
Tim beregu ganda putra DPRD Samarinda A kalah dengan skor 1-2 dari tim beregu Disdikbud A. Sehingga, DPRD Samarinda A harus puas menjadi runner up pada kejuaraan tersebut.
Sebelumnya, tim beregu ganda putra DPRD Samarinda A berhasil menembus ke final, setelah di semifinal mampu meredam perlawanan tim beregu RS IA Moeis A dengan skor 2-1. (sn/ist/ysm)
