Produksi Petani Turun Drastis Akibat Kemarau, Safuad Minta Pemprov Kaltim Carikan Solusi
Seputar Nusantara – El Nino yang menerpa Kaltim, menyebabkan kemarau dan kekeringan berkepanjangan.
Dampaknya hasil panen padi dari petani terjun payung secara signifikan bahkan mencapai lima puluh persen.
Safuad, Anggota DPRD Kaltim, mendorong pemerintah provinsi menyiapkan program sebagai alternatif solusi terhadap persoalan yang sedang dihadapi para petani.
Diperlukan koordinasi mulai dari pemerintah daerah, pemerintah provinsi hingga pemerintah pusat dalam mengantisipasi dampak bagi pertanian sebab berkaitan erat dengan pemenuhan kebutuhan pangan di daerah.
Sebenarnya, Kementerian Pertanian membuat program dalam meminimalisir dampak El Nino dengan antisipasi dini, adaptasi, mitigasi dan kolaborasi.
Salah satu langkah mitigasi yakni dengan memastikan suplai air terjaga ke sawah-sawah melalui penarikan selang yang terhubung dengan sumber air.
“Perangkat ini yang diperlukan karena petani pastinya mengalami keterbatasan. Disinilah peran pemerintah hadir dalam pemenuhan sarana prasarana seperti pipa atau selang yang menjadi saluran pemenuhan kebutuhan air,” kata Safuad, Minggu (29/10/2023).
Beberapa wilayah yang menjadi sentral pertanian di Kutim seperti Kaubun, Kaliorang, Long Mesangat, dan Kongbeng perlu dibuatkan jaringan irigasi.
“Buatkan sumur atau bendungan atau juga mata air kemudian buat jaringan pipa sampai ke sawah, ini alternatif solusi,” tegasnya.
Safuad yakin dengan koordinasi daerah dan pusat serta didorong dengan porsi anggaran yang maksimal maka persoalan El Nino mampu diminimalisir dampaknya.
Termasuk menggunakan anggaran dana desa untuk membantu membuat jaringan dimaksud. (adv)
