Seputar Nusantara – DPRD Samarinda menekankan pentingnya sektor pertanian pada perekonomian daerah.
Angkasa Jaya Djoerani, Ketua Komisi III DPRD Samarinda, mengatakan sektor pertanian memiliki beberapa peran utama, termasuk sebagai penyedia bahan pangan untuk mencapai ketahanan pangan masyarakat.

“Kami meyakini bahwa dengan memberikan perhatian khusus pada sektor pertanian, Kalimantan Timur dapat menjadi produsen hasil pertanian berkualitas tinggi dengan nilai jual yang tinggi,” kata Angkasa Jaya.
Dalam konteks Kalimantan Timur, di mana Ibukota Nusantara (IKN) sedang dikembangkan, sektor pertanian menjadi semakin penting.
Angkasa Jaya berpendapat Kalimantan Timur seharusnya dapat memenuhi sebagian besar kebutuhan pangan masyarakatnya sendiri, dan tidak hanya mengandalkan pasokan dari luar pulau, seperti Jawa dan Sulawesi.
“Pertanian memiliki potensi besar di Kalimantan Timur, dan kita harus terus mengembangkannya. Kami tidak boleh terlalu bergantung pada sumber daya migas (minyak dan gas) sebagai satu-satunya sumber pendapatan daerah,” tambahnya.
Harapannya adalah dengan memprioritaskan dan memperkuat sektor pertanian, Kalimantan Timur dapat mencapai kesejahteraan yang lebih besar bagi masyarakatnya, mandiri dalam memenuhi kebutuhan hidup, dan berkontribusi positif terhadap perekonomian nasional. (adv)
